Maximilian Leo (*1979) realised his passion by producing documentaries in different parts of the world, including Afghanistan and Africa. From 2005 to 2009 he studied at the Cologne Academy of Media Arts, majoring in Feature Film Direction. In 2008 he founded the film production company augenschein Filmproduktion together with Jonas Katzenstein. In two succeeding years, 2011 and 2012, Max was selected for the Berlinale Talent Campus. His debut feature film MY BROTHER’S KEEPER premiered at the Berlinale 2014 as the opening film in the category "Perspektive Deutsches Kino". In addition, he has successfully produced a number of national and international film projects. At augenschein he develops his own projects but also works very closely with directors and screenwriters, supporting them in the development of their work.
