THE FISHERWOMAN
Brian Kirk (*1968) first studied English literature at the University of Edinburgh and began his career as a director in the late 90s. In 2006 he directed MIDDLETOWN, his
first feature film, which received a total of nine nominations at the Irish Film and Television Awards - two of them for Kirk himself (in the categories Best Director and Breakthrough Talent).
Kirk is now an internationally renowned director, having directed successful and star-studded productions such as GAME OF THRONES and LUTHER. In the past,
as most recently with the film 21 BRIDGES starring Oscar-nominated Chadwick Boseman, Brian Kirk has already been able to prove his feeling for exciting,
action-packed cinema.
A widowed fisherwoman (Emma Thompson) is stuck in Minnesota during a snowstorm when she interrupts the kidnapping of a teenager and soon realizes she is the only hope for the young victim.
Brian Kirk will direct from a script by Nicholas Jacobson-Larson and Dalton Leeb, who just wrote the film "Hot Wheels" for Warner Bros and Bad Robot.
