BLOODY TENNIS Makes North American Premiere at Fantastic Fest Ahead of Shudder Release

BLOODY TENNIS made its North American premiere as an Official Selection at Fantastic Fest, ahead of its release on Shudder this Friday, September 25.

Sophie joins a prestigious tennis academy, where the brutality of competitive sports is taken to its extreme, and only the hungriest survive.

BLOODY TENNIS stars Sandra Guldberg Kampp, Elina Löwensohn, Helena Zengel, Tracy Gotoas, Lily Taïeb, Lucie Zhang, Vincent Romeo, and Zlatko Burić, with cinematography by Constantin Campean and an original score by Jim Williams.

Daily Dead's Matt Donato praised the film out of Fantastic Fest, writing that "performances are strong, camerawork deserves a medal." In an interview with Cineuropa following the film's Locarno premiere, director Nikias Chryssos described his approach as translating "performance pressure and the will to win into something eerie and grotesque."

BLOODY TENNIS is a production of augenschein Filmproduktion (Maximilian Leo, Jonas Katzenstein) in co-production with Port au Prince Film & Kultur Produktion and ZDF – Das kleine Fernsehspiel, with support from Film- und Medienstiftung NRW and the German Federal Film Fund (DFFF). Shudder will begin streaming the film in North America on September 25, with The Playmaker and augenschein Sales handling world sales.
