MOTHER MARY Celebrates German Premiere in Cologne

MOTHER MARY, starring Anne Hathaway and Michaela Coel, celebrated its German premiere right here in Cologne, ahead of its theatrical release on May 21st.

Written and directed by David Lowery (A GHOST STORY, THE GREEN KNIGHT), the film follows iconic pop star Mother Mary (Hathaway) who, overwhelmed by her highly anticipated stage comeback, seeks refuge with her estranged friend and collaborator Sam (Coel), a fashion designer who helped shape Mother Mary's iconic style early in her career.

Alongside producers Jonas Katzenstein and Maximilian Leo of augenschein Filmproduktion, numerous members of the film's crew attended the premiere, including Cora Pratz (supervising art director), Stephanie Raß (art director), and Andreas Hildebrandt (sound mixer).

MOTHER MARY was shot across North Rhine-Westphalia, in Cologne, Bonn, and at Burg Adendorf in Wachtberg, and was supported by the Film- und Medienstiftung NRW and the German Federal Film Fund (DFFF). LEONINE Studios released the film in German theaters on May 21st.
