THE TALE OF ROBIN HOOD Receives Production Funding from Film- und Medienstiftung NRW
THE TALE OF ROBIN HOOD, Patrick Vollrath's anti-war reinterpretation of the Robin Hood legend, has received 1.2 million euros in production funding from the Film- und Medienstiftung NRW, as part of the fund's third 2026 funding round.
In a radical reinterpretation of the iconic story, a young woman deceives Robin Hood and his Merry Men in order to save her brother. The anti-war film reexamines questions of loyalty and justice.
THE TALE OF ROBIN HOOD is directed by Patrick Vollrath, an Oscar nominee in 2016, from a screenplay by Harris Kaufmann and Joachim Hedden. Thomasin McKenzie (JOJO RABBIT) stars in the lead role. A large part of Sherwood Forest will be recreated in North Rhine-Westphalia for the production.
THE TALE OF ROBIN HOOD is a production of augenschein Filmproduktion in co-production with ZDF.
